She seems to be at her best immediately after the Sun has dropped below the horizon. Would that work for your chickens?

It may just be that my phone isn't capable of capturing the effect.

My Splits are absolutely glorious in full sunlight.

My Production Red and Australorp cross. First is about a month ago. He’s always been a biter, and bit me today when I was trying to get a nice picture of him! He is far more beautiful in person. The black feathers on his back turn orange and red as the sun hits them. A gorgeous little mutt!

I have a biter, too, Rocky, only sometimes when I pick him up & carry, when he obviously didn't want to be picked up...little stinker will stretch his neck to reach down around & bite my butt cheek! He bites hard, through clothes! Hurts & leaves a bruise. The ornery boy then Laughs, after he bites me!! I swear it sounds like a person laughing, if I happen to be on the phone when it happens, the person on the phone hears it and asks who is there laughing, it sounds so human. Even though it hurts, his laugh makes me laugh. He is such a brat but I love him. ❤
Here's a pic of him, giving me stink eye...he does that often, too.
