I wish I knew for sure what the difference is. I've tried researching but those ear muffs and beard throw me off.
Old post but since it was just quoted ... if anyone wants to know (besides the price mentioned above) - A REAL Ameraucana will always be sold by color. There are a limited number of recognized colors and I think other than the "splash" offspring of the Blue Ameraucana, the hens will always be a solid color. I've never seen an EE that was a solid color. The closest I've had was a white with peach markings. They are usually very patterned and quite attractive.

There aren't many big hatcheries selling REAL Ameraucanas and those that do sell by color and probably have a separate page for their Easter Eggers.
