I covered the basket with a cloth and put them under it. They're feisty little ones! Had to leave them covered for a few minutes til they got quiet just to get them to stay still long enough for a picture!Adorable!
But how did you get them to stay put and not jump out as fast as you loaded them?
I would be tempted to leave her with them. Protection from the bigger girls and an educator.Fortunately, she didn't bully the chicks and even let them cuddle under her when they went to sleep.
How sweet. Maybe she'll want to be a mama hen soon.This January-hatch Blue Australorp pullet somehow got into the integration pen while I was feeding the 4-week-olds yesterday. I couldn't catch her so I had to wait until after dark to take her out.
