Oh I agree. Edna is a beautiful chicken. One of our prettiest barred rocks. There's something about barred rocks pullets with their little combs putting their beaks near the camera that make them look like skexis.

I'd say that our prettiest barred rock is Noelle. She's always had a rather impressive comb. She was originally the top of the pecking order before the rooster showed up. It shrunk some with her molt this year, but it's still impressive.

The french an has no equivalent in english and is a difficulty.

There isn't one rule for pronouncing or not s at the end of place's names in french, it depends where they are located in France (Marans is a town in center west). I live in a village named Daluis in the south east and some inhabitants pronounce the s, most don't .
