Picture Of The Week (POW) Information & Submissions

Thank you 🙏 ❤️ I do…she and I have a bond. She belonged to a neighbor and he was going to cull her for eating eggs, so we took her in, knowing that if she ate eggs here, we’d figure it out and not cull. We’re big believers in keeping animals for their whole lives once you make the choice to take them on. Anyways, since she was a lone hen, it took weeks and weeks of patience and sitting with her to help her get integrated. I felt so sad for her to have no friends, but it was worth going through the sad times to give her a new life. Her and I are BFFs after all that time we spent together. And she isn’t an egg eater, she just has reproductive issues and was laying soft eggs.
People who cull egg-eaters are not right in my book, So glad Ravioli is protected, We need more people like you:celebrate:thumbsup

With our great new homepage for BYC, we've also now got an exciting new system and process for our Picture Of The Week (POW), so we need your submissions!!!

Your Submissions MUST:
  • Be an image you took & own the rights to
  • Be a sharp, clean, picture that's at least 800 pixels wide
  • Include a short sentence about your picture, e.g., "My overly friendly Buff Orpington named Alehendra"
  • We prefer "landscape" (sideways) photos, but we'll accept really awesome"portrait"(tall) pictures... we just may need to crop them
Submit your POW by simply replying to this thread and attaching an image :)

We don't have a strict process or time-frame for how/when the POWs are posted, but in general they will be posted to the homepage weekly, and clicking on the POW will bring you to the post within this thread where the image was submitted.

Ooh lala! I love the speckled girl in front. She looks like she has legbar in the mix. ❤
She is Ingrid Bergman (Icelandic Landrace). She is quite a character. I call her "Ingrididio" and she comes running to me. My husband says he is NOT calling her that! If I sit down, she jumps on my lap and starts going through my pockets.
