Picture thread of my hens!

Loved the group shot of Lacey and her family. I see Marnie possing for her pic. They are just precious.

Pearl is so pitiful. She has spunk tho attacking Orp like that. I guess she doesn't realize her size and she's probably feeling better with good food to eat. I hope she grows those feathers in before it starts getting cold. Bless her heart.

Thanks so much for sharing the pics and taking such good care of the Pearl and her sisters.

Should have called Pearl "miss piggy". She's ate so much today! She has scrambled egg and chopped grapes for her breakfast, a long with a bowl of chick crumb. Then for her tea she had scrambled eggs, then some chick crumb and mealworms mixed with corn and then a bowl of mixed corn. She will have these feathers back in no time the little porker

Didn't want to post until I knew she had a better chance of recovering. Poor crystal had an accident. When I feed the hens, I put the new three girls on top of the nest box where they can enjoy lots of treats with none of the others being able to get to them. Greedy Tilly always has a go until I spot her. Anyways today I was at work early and didn't want them to have to wait all day until I got home, so I got up early and did everything the same. Once the 3 rescue girls were nearly done I was like right they'll be fine now. They've always been fine getting down, but I've always been there. I think this time one of the other hens has jamp up and they needed to escape so just jamp in any direction. Crystal jamp straight into the bog!!! When I got there she was lying in it with only her head and top of her back sticking out. I wrapped her up in my coat, she was freezing, I put her on the floor or my car under the heaters and put them on full blast till I got home. She had hyperthermia, was dehydrated and was in shock. A couple hours infront of the fire and she was all warmed up. Had to syringe sugar water into her and then when the time came I waved a raw egg infront of her beak and she got stuck straight in!! (Never think a hen won't eat until you try this lol), since then she's had some scrambled egg, chick crumb and corn and is now tucked up in a carrier for the night near the fire. She's still a bit wobbly on her feet so she gets to spend the night in luxury until she's fit enough to go back! Would have never forgiven myself if she died, I literally for there just on time, 5 more mins and I don't think she would have made it!

Poor little Crystal I'm so glad you saved her when you did. She's in my prayers for a speedy recovery. They can sure get theirselves in alot of trouble can't they? It looks like she's in good hands.

Pearl is getting a little plump. Don't tell her that I don't want her to quit eatting. She must have been half starved when you got her. She is very lucky you come along and bought her. She's looking better already her color is alot better and I do see some feathers growing in.

Follow the leader is precious. Lacey is in the back left of that picture. She is getting harder to tell from the babies they are getting so big. Do you know how many females you have and males yet? Do the males have the low voices like the regular ducks.

To bad Josies babies didn't get any of her coloring. She is absolutely beautiful marked. I've never seen a runner like that before. Her babies look like runners but look a little heavier then the normal runner. I guess they get that heavy look from their dad. Do you still have Daffy? I haven't seen him in any of the pics.

Thanks so much for sharing the pics.

Thank you. Josie has 3 girls, 3 boys and one unknown. Lacey has 4 girls, 3 boys and little baby who I don't know about yet. And yes Lacey was the back left! Josies have turned out really pretty actually. I love the gray female, but have decided to rehome all of them. Will be rehoming 11 in total. Josies 7 and 4 of Lacey's. All have great homes lined up tho :). Yes, I do still have Daffy sadly! Him and Josie are starting to pair up again, think him and Lacey are officially over, but she's got her little friends now, she doesn't need him.

Aw poor Crystal. I'm glad she's eating and hope she get's her strength back soon.

Pearl certainly has a full crop and lots of pin feathers. She will look extra gorgeous in a while with all the TLC.
Thank you. Pearl is the roughest out of the three and is doing the best to be honest. Bea and Crystal both have limps! Their bones are so fragile :(. Not be long till they have just as much strength as everyone else. So glad to see their feathers are coming back quick as its been a cold Summer, so need them ready for Autumn/Winter!

I'm glad you found them good homes. It's going to be sad when you have to give them up. I wished I lived close I would love to have a couple of Lacey's babies. I would choose one that looked just like her.

That's fine about Daffy he can take up with Josie again and Lacey will have her babies to hang around with. She loves her babies and they love her.

Thanks for the update and I hope the girls continue getting stronger and healthy.

Have a great day.

I know itll be so sad! Will have to rehome them when its raining as thats when they make me mad because they make that much of a bloody mess lol. If it was my field it would be different. But its my uncles, so I need to show some respect and not let the ducks destroy it. Too bad you werent closer as 3 of the 4 of Lacey's going are her look alikes!!!

Sooo its my birthday tomorrow! So might not be on to post so will give yous a big heap of stuff now!
