I gave my old chicks some sand and they ate it up.

I gave my new chicks a small amount of sand since I didn't want them to overeat it --- and they tried to dustbath in it!! Seeing chicks attempt to dustbath in about a tablespoon of sand was quite hilarious!! I felt bad for them so I gave them a little more and they dove right in. lol

My cat has come a long way since the first batch of chicks. He used to think they were food or toys, but I pushed his paws away gently and my chicks survived. This time around, he totally ignored the chicks. He laid on my lap while I watched the chick TV for a good while tonight. Relaxing!

Took some pix the last couple of days:

Don't tell Dh, the chick pooped on his desk! Mine's too much of a disaster area - no room for chicks!

I cleaned and straightened things up. Maybe DH will complain less? lol
Really he's ok with the chicks.

Two or three are coming in with brown and black "salt and peppered" feathers. I think they're gonna be SO cute!!!

The others seem like they are gonna go with plain old black and white barred.

It's cool how some have almost white faces and some have brown faces
