You know that show, American Pickers? I'm sure that short guy would go crazy for that can. That's why those guys were watching in. Wonder if there is some place you can look stuff like that up.

This is what I did, I cut out all the fabric for each square, put all the fabric for one square in a baggie. Each member of my quilting guild took a baggie they put together one block and gave them back to me. I put the quilt together then we all hand quilted it at a local fair. The quilting wasn't done so one of the members took it home to finish. She's in her 80's I think. She gave it back to me and I did the binding. Then we gave it away. It went to a local school where the teacher works with handyicap children. They have a store in the school where they sell things. It's helps them get ready for working when they are done with school.​

After 8 years of mending clothes for my husband, I found out the he was an apprentice tailor and used to make suites by hand. Now when I need something mended I give it to him

I bet he wished his dad and I had never had that conversation. He helps me sometimes with my quilting, he can make the most amazing, tiny stitches.

Coyote, most of the guys only did a little square or two each night, but I think it is awesome that they contributed. Mike often goes fabric shopping with me and he'll help me decide on fabrics when I have them spread all over the floor trying to make up my mind (like last night on the binding for the Relay for Life quilt). I'm glad he is willing to share his opinion with me.

It's sad how little some people value quilts. I know I had over $100 just in materials for Rosie's quilt (and that was with a 10% discount the quilt shop gave me because they knew Rosie). I don't usually keep track of how much I have in a quilt because it is depressing. lol. So far the people I've given quilts to really seem to appreciate them and I'm thankful for that. It's a lot of work to have someone not care!

The first one is a crumb block lap quilt I made for my parents for Christmas this past year. The second is a quilt made for a doll quilt exchange, that was supposed to represent where we lived (I'm in the California Sierra Foothills) and the third quilt is a Project Linus baby quilt I did last year.
