I've gotten 3 eggs in the coop everyday for the past week so it would make sense if she has just been laying down there, I assume they are from the past 4 days but is there any way to be sure?

Do you know about the float test? Put them in a bowl of water deep enough to cover the eggs and if they float they are too old.I've gotten 3 eggs in the coop everyday for the past week so it would make sense if she has just been laying down there, I assume they are from the past 4 days but is there any way to be sure?
Thank you I had not heard of that, all 4 sank so I think they're good. Im also relieved and ill be sure to keep an extra close eye on her over the next days.Do you know about the float test? Put them in a bowl of water deep enough to cover the eggs and if they float they are too old.
I'm very relieved to hear that Pigeon is just broody.
I've done the float test on eggs that I knew were old before, for science, and they all bobbed right to the top! So I feel like it is a good indicator.Thank you I had not heard of that, all 4 sank so I think they're good. Im also relieved and ill be sure to keep an extra close eye on her over the next days.
That's a good idea. Then you can monitor her egg production, too. Personally I would try not to increase her daylight, since you'll have her inside. I know that's hard not to do since you'll probably be up past dark.I think I'll set up a cage inside to keep a close eye on her overnight and just make sure she is eating and pooping.
Thank you for the suggestion I wouldn't have thought of it, I set up the cage in my back bunny room which I always keep on natural daylight. That's a good idea. I'm hard of hearing, even with hearing aids, so if my ducks make that noise I likely don't hear it. Maybe @Isaac 0 knows.Shes just lying in my lap now and I'm noticing that I keep hearing what sounds like a knuckle cracking, but much quieter coming from the back of her every once and awhile. I tried to record but it's too quiet for my phone to pick it up, any idea what might be making that noise?
