Yes. @LamarshFish started a thread about thisI just thought, do they need a grit tray?
You can keep them together... and yes you should get another loft! Can I keep rollers and racers together? Im trying to decide what to get. I like them both. Or should I just get another loft?![]()
When I've finished sorting all the coops, lofts, rabbit runs, quail run and kids play stuff in the garden I'll post a panoramic pic. It's like a petting zoo out there! You can keep them together... and yes you should get another loft!
edit : you will need it soon, imo.![]()
Always something new with pigeons. Today was my first time hand-feeding a baby, 12 days old. I think I managed to fill him up on thawed froz. peas and he's happy for now while I think what else to do.![]()

Since yesterday I noticed his 2 moms were not hanging in the box with him but rather in another previously unoccupied nest box. With an empty crop at 10 this morning I decided I had to do something now. I figured the peas will provide hydration as well as nutrition for the moment. He perked up quite a bit after feeding.
2nd concern - he is vulnerable to attack by another bird when he is by himself...I wonder if I should just bring him inside.
Help me with any thoughts, advice or experience. thanks.
edit - @Hokum Coco Ron, what do you think?

So little #831 is still alive despite my inexperience and thanks to youtube videos**. We have moved on from thawed peas to a chicken pellet gruel.
** - check this out!Not the method I chose, but interesting.
Here after 4th gruel feeding it's going much faster! He sucked down 2oz, maybe 60mls in less than a minute - I made him stop 3x to take a breath. Didn't even cover himself in food dribbles. That looks brutal! Keep going as you are! You too could have a Pidove!
