That looks really good and easy to make.Well,,,,,,,,,,,, I do see where the problem is. The Boards are too far apart.
Here are plans for a typical Sputnik. The boards have a 4 inch opening between them. The drop down is 16 inches in this diagram. It functions such, that a pigeon is nor able to land on a surface flying up, since its wings are spread open. View attachment 1774899
Here are some pix of what I made. It is able to be entered from 2 sides.
View attachment 1774894 Made this from boards that I had laying around. These are leftover flooring boards. The ridge has 1 1/2 inch PVC pipe spacers. A threaded rod holds it all together secured.
The yellow and green colors are not a FASHION STATEMENT
It is what I had left over of some good quality Porch & Deck Paint
Ran out of yellow,,, so finished with green.
View attachment 1774895 Aviary is a dog cage modified.
View attachment 1774896 In above pix , can see a landing pad I installed for the pigeons to easily access the top of aviary where Sputnik rests on.
View attachment 1774897 My pigeons never even tried to escape.Maybe they tried when I did not see.
None succeeded

Are you sure? I'm going with 10.16 cm = 4in....That looks really good and easy to make.I thought about making one when I made my trap but it was a bit cumbersome for my loft. I think they would trap alot easier with one as they always stand on top first looking down to get in.
Oh, and 4" is 101.6cm!![]()
Your right!Are you sure? I'm going with 10.16 cm = 4in....
Edit - It would be 101.6 mm.
