Pigeon feeding and nesting question

We are up to 4 eggs!
The temperature is supposed to drop tonight so I went out and put some pine straw and hay in coop just in case they wanted to add any to the nest and Yupe....right away they, well I should say She started picking it up and she booted him off the nest and that's when I saw 4 egg

Sad to say that the eggs were found crushed yesturday,

I feed my breeding pairs egg layer pellets and never had that problem. KNOCK ON WOOD.

Eggs can be destroyed by the parents once they realize that the eggs are not developing. That seems to happen around days 9-11, so the eggs that are broken are right around that time frame, based on when you posted that you saw the first couple of eggs and when they began sitting on them as a group.

Yup cheap natural layer, at least for breeders, prevents/stops most problems within hen, and after laying (some hens get weak n sick after they lay needing pick me up vit drops on only seed diet, especially first time layers). I've had breeder pairs on all layer to part layer for two years of so, no problems, nothing but improved performance and consistent show form. Dissection microscoomi analysis before consuming/feeding off culls, showed no abnormalities except denser bones, thicker blood, and all around improved joint skin flesh and organ ect health (no problems in liver kidneys ect, as rumors say can happen ,in hundreds to thousands of ferals racers homers rollers tumblers and show types ect as well). I'm by no meand claiming to be an expert or to have seen it all, as far from it, and always learning here whether experience things myself yet or not. Varying factors always apply, and most of my experience with pigeons is in foothills of smokey mountains TN now. before was tri city areas of Milwaukee Chicago and Detroit up north working with racing homers some ferals and few rollers which I was always taught were just culls when they joined or bred into homer flocks or lost on tosses, when worked with racers coming into our clinics ect.

I had one or two hens that'd lay three eggs, one that layed four all fertile somehow, one of the ones that's tha three would be fertile on and off too. I've also had eggs produce two squab in one healthy, sometimes unfortunately conjoined even, where they couldn't be separated needing to be culled (tumbler breeds in performance and show stock produced most odd results). Mine roll or destroy eggs after about a week when realize not viable for one reason or another, whether they are in deep dog bowl or narrow board ect with lil bits of grass twigs ect. If it's bad condition to hatch (predators around, not good nutrition, to wet moldy pest invertebrates/parasites ect, too hot oddly with some of my performance rollers have and show homers had), they have destroyed eggs and babies at various stages as mercy I'm assuming.
