pigeon growth rate pics..

Do u think that they would kill them if they were males and not kill the females?
I do not think sex is the factor I had a male pigeon nearly kill a female squab if I had not intervened when I did.

It was the squabs father that had taken up with another female that had lost her mate and was trying to evict his previous mate from the nest box and kill its offspring.

This was done in order to begin nesting with the other woman shall we say.

That was the first time I had seen this happen in all my years of raising pigeons.
I do not think it is a common occurrence.


Most adult pigeons will feed a squab whether it is his or not.
However In my loft I can not say that.
I had one pigeon peck the eye out of one squab and one adult female.
I do not know what bird in my flock is the guilty culprit.
