Pigeon Housing / First Pigeons

I have looked at many different housings for pigeons. I would like to start out with two pigeons. Would it be possible to start out with a rabbit hutch? This would just be for starting out. I don't know at this time what type of pigeon would be good for me to start out with. Can someone recommend a good starter pigeon? Thank you.

I like white homers you must get (squeakers) young ones is my experience. I do the White Dove Release.
