Pigeon I building

Ok I caught both birds and for gear that they may come back in again we put them in a box, I took them home and was wondering if I leave them go will they find their way back? We live 60 miles west of the building and are in the woods at the base of a mountain so I need to know if I should let them free

Pigeons are known for having a remarkable homing instinct and this instinct has been cultivated in Racing Homers to a degree of high perfection.

Feral Pigeons are not a species native to this continent. They are descendants of birds which breeders have lost over the last 200 or so years. Most of the genetic studies on Feral Pigeons indicate that they are primarily descended from Racing Homers, which they closely resemble.

Putting it another way, from 60 miles away, there is a pretty good chance that one or both will return.

Ok I am feeding them for a while then I will let them go I will wait a week or so then the building will be closed up,I was hoping they would stick around here, the are like pigeons that are in every city
