yay! No, I love city pigeons. have caught several too. I had two flying with my homers firever, but one day never returned... I also once baited one close enough to catch by hand. It has fishing string on it's toes. and I was lucky enough I had a pocket knife to free it. It was probably a male, and was very very skinny. So, he was given all the whole yellow corn he could eat out of my hand, and then realised! It as pretty cool. I would have kept him to get some more weight on him, and to makes sure his toes didn't get infected, but it was summer, and he could have had squabs that needed him. Never keep Gerald in the summer!View attachment 2200612
Nuggets beginning to look like a real pigeon! Is it only me that obsesses over city pigeons when I see them?
I don't think it would be good. If you plan on keeping that line of pigeons for years, you need strong birds. I will never inbreed my birds. I don't recommend anyone to do that. But, there your birds, so it's up to you.when Nugget becomes sexually mature, will I have to get him a mate? Will he pair with his siblings? (More babies on the way!) I don’t really want him pairing with his siblings but if he does is it ok?

Eeee I wish, but I don’t have the space or time to maintain a house pigeon. Maybe later if I had the opportunity.Nugget wants to be a house pigeon!!
you don't have to. if you want to breed form him, I would. So that means I would have to get him a mate?
I guess I have time to think about it. I’m fine with getting a new pigeon, it’s just the matter of my family, who don’t entirely approve me bringing home random birdsyou don't have to. if you want to breed form him, I would.
Nugget looks good! You can tell he is comfortable around you. As you can tell, he has the "dirty gene". Nothing bad, just dark colored legs. Something I am not a fan of, but doesn't really matter.
