Pigeon Talk

@biophiliac have you considered the 3 in 1 soluble? If you have one bird with this then there is a strong possibility that the rest could get it if they're drinking from the same water source. Nice to meet you @Misfits Farm 92 you have some great looking birds there! Well done on finding the ones you were looking for. Can you get a courier to pick these birds up if you wanted them? In UK there is we have bird couriers transporting lost strays and newly purchased or sold birds. The cost is less than the fuel it would take to do a 6 hour round trip. @WVduckchick great news that Bonnie is back in the bowl with Bugsy! Hopefully she won't negate her parental responsibilities! At least for another 2 weeks!

I know this is a pigeon thread but can I ask a question about doves. Well they keep laying eggs but I don't want them to hatch baby's for 2 reasons the first reason is I haven't cleaned their nest box since the last 2 hatched. The second reason is what if the helpless pink babies freeze to death. Anyway I wanted to know if they make wooden eggs small enough to fit under the doves? If you think I should let them brood the eggs and not throw them out please tell me.

Get a couple of false eggs, wooden or plastic and do a switcheroo! Leave them to sit on them and let them be. They will stay on them for the normal length of time it takes to hatch but it should stop them laying anymore. If you want baby doves leave them on real eggs when it gets warmer.

Bugsy is adorable. I have some albino doves for sale right now they are ring neck doves. They used to be together but now they are separated in different cages. since your in West Virginia we can probably figure out a time to meet if you want them I can get some pics or you can look at the ad. I also have and adult pair I don't know the colors though.

@Field Mountains Farm have you made a decision on loft type/setup? Walk in or not?
I like the idea of a walk in, if we use the camper I'll have pleanty of room. But if I decide to use the aviary I wont be able to do a walk in. The aviary will allow them to have more outside spase to stretch their wings and sun,
And I really like the idea of that.. I think it would be better for them.
Decisions, decisions...:th
She's sooo cute! :love:love:love:love:love
