Pigeon Talk

@Pyxis ... link to pic of squab eating chicken pellet formula. Easier for me than putting seeds grit and water into beak separately as my fingers aren't as agile as they used to be, lol. Also, you don't need grit with my method and the water is included.:)

Thanks! I'm looking forward to babies, haha. But not until spring most likely since all of mine were hatched this year.

Meanwhile my new arrivals will be shipping out Wednesday, a late Christmas present to myself :)

Not your fault!

Update. 2nd egg laid and hen is sitting tight!

:clap the countdown begins. :fl

You said said they can't fly well but I accidentally skipped over a word.

As with all things it depends upon the strain and what the breeder has done with them. All of my life I have regarded Nuns as merely a pretty/show breed. Several years ago I saw a flock in Denmark flying quite vigorously.

I dont think i said they fly well. Perhaps someone else? But at the louville pigeon show i went to they did NOT look like they were built for flying. Small wings and fat body.
No they can't fly good I agree with you I have seen pics of modena pigeons your right small wings and fat body they are not built to be good flyers.

And yet I had a friend who had a flying flock of Modenas. He showed too and did well with his birds. I believe; however, that the trend has been towards more of a meat type bird.
