Pigeon Talk

Did y’all know this?

Fantails are often used by pigeon flyers in the training ofracing pigeons and Tipplers. They are used as droppers
in that they are placed on the loft landing board as a signal to the flying birds to come in and be fed. Due to the fact that can't fly much distance, they can easily be thrown into the air to attract homer and racing pigeons to return from the sky. Here is an example of a trainer in Australia demonstrating how to use the Fantail Pigeon to summon racing pigeons home...

Ive had company since last Sat... been
I got me a dropper!
Yes I did. They will often use a roller with its flight feathers clipped so it makes lots of noise.

and the red ash spread I was talking about isn't red :) it would be the one in the top right corner of the fantail chart.

@CCUK I hate to say... But I can't stand archangels. I don't know why. They kinda look like a starling. But I LOVE your blue checks!

@Hokum Coco had a bird return with its wings duck taped together right? They will go to desperate cost to get back home. Several war pigeons would land and trap then die right there.
