Pigeon Talk

Thanks for all the help everyone! :)
I'm happy to say that as of five minutes ago the two missing birds came home together. :ya
They fought some strong winds that started up this morning to get back, and they seem none worse for wear. I'm fairly certain that these two birds in particular are a male/female pair, or a bonded pair at the very least because they never leave each other's side.

I was catching up on quite a few posts and was very happy to read they came back! :clap

Now, tell me that I've been wrong. I think that Boomer is actually male. I've noticed boomer and Beau seemingly pairing up but boomer has always been the one to appear to be driving beau and acting more cockish in the loft recently. Today boomer was chasing beau on top of the loft and I noticed how much bigger boomer is. Watch this and thoughts on a postcard! Boomer is the one with the red ring and I'm zooming in on and trying to follow. Beau is the smaller one being chased.

Hubby and I went to an antique shop today and saw this vintage pigeon box! Isn't it neat!
They wanted 165 dollars for it

Wow! I'll hang onto my boxes. Lol. So are you going to get fantails!?
Hopefully . . in the near future. :) we are still working on expanding my call duck palace right now and I need to get rid of some extra drakes. And I'm still thinking on how I could make a loft in the call duck palace. . once that's all worked out I'll get more serious looking for some. :fl

I will say that I wouldn't recommend fantails with calls. Other breeds of pigeons would be fine but fantails can't see behind them well and calls can be naughty sometimes. Especially if theres water! But pigeons don't need a ton of space so you could build a loft or two!
