Here's the turkish tumblers. They're in blue and silver bar. I'm going out to get some old german owl pics. Those eggs didn't hatch.

OMG! Found 2 oops babies in the loft this morning, already several days old

Where their eyes are open I guarantee they are at least 3 days old for sure.

Had my first Cooper's attack today. As I was giving the loft a quick scrape one of my two youngest birds squeezed past me and out the door. I lowered the landing board and he immediately flew for it, landing on the wire aviary beside it and sort of shuffling onto the board. In a matter of seconds a big female Cooper's slammed my pigeon and took off across the yard. Luckily the squeaker was smart, he dove under the cage and under the loft, and when I inspected him he didn't have a mark on him. I don't think the hawk even touched him, instead I believe it smacked the wire cage then took off.
He's none worse for wear thankfully and actually ran right into my hands when I went to scoop him up and place him back inside

Crikey! That's a brave or very hungry hawk if it tries to take one of your birds when your stood right there! I'm glad it's OK though.

You squeaker dodged a bullet that time. Unfortunately the hawk will be back. It does not always end in your favour especially with young birds. Older birds especially with a half a chance can usually escape is my experience.

The one rule still holds true

"NEVER FLY A BIRD YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO LOOSE."

I wish I had that problem! Mine arent breeding much.

I banded 13 and pulled at least 2 dozen more eggs, replaced with plastic!

You are right about that sir! I estimate that front one is 4 days and the smaller one 2+ days old.

Crikey! That's a brave or very hungry hawk if it tries to take one of your birds when your stood right there!

Did I mention it was windy with driving rain? I think that hawk was definitely pretty hungry.

I've had the whole group out a couple times already with no hawk appearances, this was the first and luckily only one was out. I think that particular hawk was sitting and watching me for a while. Hopefully when the trees all lose their leaves around here I'll be able to spot them better.
