My finches have very strong maternal instincts. I normally take their eggs and replace them with fakes or I'd be overrun with chicks. I have a pair and their grown son and daughter all together. The momma finch seems ecstatic her plastic eggs hatched after like three months, no matter how wrong her babies this time look. Fingers crossed they will continue to foster, at least until the canaries are a little older and louder and I can try them with their mom again and see if she will feed them then (as being raised by their own species is going to be better for them learning to be canaries.)

Btw I have like no humour, I take things far to seriously. Well that’s what my parents say at least.

This is one of my rollers I’ve bred. I think it’s a cock bird. And I’m pretty sure it’s a red checker.

Also, the rollers in general are quite flyers. They fly and you can not hear much compared to when the Serbian highflyers do.

Had Brick and Brewer out in my workshop for a little free time. They are very comfortable climbing on me and are getting much better at hopping up on higher things.

It's great to see them coming along and the workshop gives them a chance to practice flying.
