It won't show well... You need the upright posture for performing show birds. Like this :) can you guess which one is closer to show quality?
So I was right about that bird? Yay! I don't really have experience showing. I'm gonna say the one in front would show better?

Another fault on the bird is that it's wings are higher than its tail. It kinda looks sick. But it is a pretty bird!
Exactly. edit - I hope it's just getting ready to lay maybe and not sick?

Looking good!:thumbsup

Yep! The one in front! Although it can vary breed to breed, I can't think of any breed with slouching as a wanted trait.

I wonder if Flight Pigeons interbreeding with Homing pigeons, produce offspring with POOR homing skills:idunno:old
From What I read in that article, they are easily lured into other lofts.
I confess I enjoy speculating about the birds like Boomer who leave their home loft to live somewhere else, and thus start a new flock (with her enabler @CCUK ) or like ccuk's new bird and Loper who left their home loft, choosing to join another established flock. As for ccuk's birds - they had no trouble navigating back to him on a fairly distant first toss. So poor skills? :confused:I suspect a variance in the flocking/independence gene.
Another thing I think about is pigeon culture. ... BTW why is there a wise old man emoji and no wise old woman emoji???:gig

Flights sound like they have been selected for the opposite of homing ability - intentionally being bred to stray!
The way I see it, they are bred for strong flocking instincts and flying endurance. They ones that stray or are left behind are strongly motivated to join the next available kit and thus are captured.

In order to win, racing homers have to be able to break from the flock and peal off to their home loft at the optimal point/shortest distance. If they dither and stay with the group they may have to double back and cover more distance.
