Pigeon Talk

Very nice! You must have good hands. I thought you would encounter a very solid mass and it's kind of a delicate job getting it out. I can't see any reason to put any thing on it except to keep the outer opening open while the cavity behind it closes completely. Congrats! :)

PS pus doesn't seem so :sick when you consider it's is mostly the remains of the body's infection fighters - white blood cells, which gave their lives fighting the infection. RIP little warriors.
It's still kinda gross though :p

But it sure is good to have!

Alright y'all! So at first, I thought it was going to be an easy removal since it was just a scab. But as I was working on it, I pulled it out partway, and it was more than a scab. I thought it was a rock like @Hokum Coco said it could be a foreign object. But then I got it out all out and I believe it may just be dried puss.:sick

They pigeon was a champ and is looking great! There seems to go no fluid where the dried puss was.View attachment 1788967 View attachment 1788969
Nice one! I bet he will feel a whole lot better without that there now.

I'm missing 5 pigeons. I let them out for a loft fly earlier. They were all together. When I got them back in there was only 10. They never stray far away on a loft fly. I'm missing #65 #67 & #68, #67 & #68 I have been doing tosses with. I'm also missing prince and beauty:(. It's starting to get dark now and it's raining. I'll leave the trap open with the partion in and some food and water. Hopefully they will return in the morning.

It's too quiet in the loft. They know friend's are missing. :( I just hope they haven't got caught up with some other birds returning from a race and end up the other side of the country. They all have a band with my number on. Hopefully they'll either return or I'll get a call.

I'm guessing they are together and I think they'll find their way back. Mine are not flying like last year. They fly for a very short time and then hang out on the ground or the roof.:barnie It was fun to see the babies come out today but I fear they will copy the bad habits.

Oh no! I'm so sorry! I'm sure they will turn up. It's always such a sad feeling when they don't come back. Do you have any strong flyers in the missing group? Any that were on tosses?

He looks a lot happier now. That lump gave him a 'frowny' expression. Is he pretty tame?
Depends on what you call tame... He will sit on my hand, if I can get him out of the cage. He trys to bite and wing slap me alot. But we're getting there! I call him "he" because of the wing slapping...

He arrived with the name "little Jake" and it will remain :)
