Pigeon Talk

Welcome back @Fields Mountain Farm and @WVduckchick ! I'm glad y'all had a great time! How was TN for you wv? You got to see a pretty accurate week. Lots of rain then humid heat... Haha.

Wasn't much different than my climate actually. We did have one pretty horrendous storm, though it was brief. The humidity is crazy, thank goodness I'm used to it. Luckily there always seemed to be a decent breeze blowing.

And luckily I didn't give a rats a&$ what my hair looked like. :gig

Eeeeeeeee!!!!! :love

My two older white homer speakers are doing good. One got a small cut from an extra male racing homer in the coop... But it is totally ok now!

The other batch of homers one has fallen behind a bit. But I'm hand feeding peas a lot so it will catch up soon. One of the supposed to be whites isnt! It has a black beak, so most likely a blue bar... We will see though. Maybe a grizzle! :drool @Fields Mountain Farm I have two racing homer males, along with a dud roller hen for free to you :) you want them? :fl The non -rolling roller hen is already paired to one of the racing homer males! You can even have the coop since I'm replacing it! (The coop would be great for a big bonfire) it's ugly!
Awww! That is really sweet of you, thank you! :hugs
Unfortunately dh isnt ready for me to venture into pigeons just yet... so go ahead and see of you can rehome them elswhere.. if Im able to get some in a couple of months and you still have them, Id be thrilled to take them, however, Im not letting you give them to me for nothing, you have time, money and heart invested in them.. I will pay you what I can for them! :love

Who says he has to know? :D

Trust me, those two boys are causing some problems with all the tiny rollers they are with now. So I just need them gone, I'm not asking for anything... Just a good home like yours :)

:lau He knows me too well for that to work! :gig
Tell ya what, I'll talk to him some more and see if I can get him to agree.. I will pm you and let you know. But if someone else you feel good about giving them to comes along, promise me you will let them have them! They are beautiful boys! :love:love

does this mean I can't send you MY problem bachelors?:lau

This is just my opinion. :old
Problem bachelors become LESS PROBLEM BACHELORS,,, if they are exercised and flown.
Just like children,,,, if you take them outside, and they run and play, and get tired. They come home and are LOVING:love. If they are stuck inside with little to do,,,,,,,, they manage to find mischief. :idunno
So with pigeons,,,,,,, if one of them is being naughty in the loft,,,,, Fly them, and give them FREEDOM. If does not return,,,, then you only lost a pigeon,, not a homer.
We need not go to the predator subject. We are not intentionally releasing them when there is a predator in sight.
We do not live in THE IDEAL UNIVERSE yet.

Kk

Well, I let them out nearly every day! I. guess it would be worse if I didn't. Probably if I could do some 50mi tosses that could take their energy down a bit.

Part of the issue is that they are loving, extremely loving, and in inappropriate ways...ie treading hens(not their mates) while they are eating and drinking.

I would totally do this, but sadly they aren't settled to me. And the guy who I purchased them from is now overseas, and I don't want to make his wife and kids deal with some pigeons. Otherwise, they would be flying right now!
