So they like it mixed with food?

I went to the feed store today and got some trapping oil. Its aniseed and pure anuss. It smells really nice! You put 10ml in 3kg of feed. Does it work? Well my birds were all out whilst I cleaned them. They gave a bit of a tenancy to not go straight in, so when wanted them in so I put this in, within 2-3 minutes every bird was in!!! I didn't even have to use the partion! I'll only use it when they're out but it seems to work good so far!

Yes. It says to put 10ml in 3kg of feed. But I just put a few drops in with a couple of cupfuls of feed. I'm only going to give it them when I want them to return.

I guess so. They are attracted to the aniseed smell and add that to being hungry it gets them to trap almost immediately, no messing about. I'm not sure how far they can smell but when I mixed a little in my garage you could smell it in the house!

Very interesting, I haven't seen that product before. My redstone grit has anise in it tho.

I have aniseed in my feed. I heard about the oil so I thought I'd give it a try. It was only a giver for 250ml. I've mixed 1.6ml in 500g feed. They're out at the moment so I'll see if it wasn't just a one off!

Maybe it's like if I smell cookies baking, I will want to get there fast.
I never liked the smell of anise very much. But since the birds like it I may learn to...
