Pigeon Talk

Probably the January HAL. I haven’t really been talking about them much. These were eggs I pulled from a broody nest, thought she wasn’t interested in sitting, so a bunch of them had been outside for several days in fluctuating temps. And some are new layers, so not good odds lol
Started with 22, only 7 made it to lockdown. Just checked and my first 2 internal pippers have already died.

But I have another incubator with 12 more, and my broody girls finally stuck to the nest. Hard to tell how many they have. Lol
I thought you were thinning your numbers?

Its the pic I posted here: :D

She's a really gorgeous bird. I'm so anxious to see what their offspring come out like.

By the way, I'm hatching call ducklings this weekend, so the pigeons may soon lose the avatar throne for a little while. But they will regain it quickly, I feel sure.
She really is a pretty girl! :pop
Bantam cochins are a broody bunch!! At least mine are.
I've had 4 or 5 try to cram in one nest box at the same time.
Look at t different age ranges: All hatched and raised by broodies in the same pen.

But they don't get much cuter, so I have a hard time telling them "No".

I loved my bantam cochins and yep, broody all the time..:lau
Oh wow! :love That's definitely the cutest picture ever! I can understand how come you ended up with so many!! Well speckle has been on her own in the cage today and when I got home she had her head down and bum all fluffed up sat on an egg! She didn't move when I took it! But she back to running/hopping around my living room now. I wouldn't want to have to try and break her especially whilst I'm trying to fix her!
