Shes on her way with the bird right now.
I named her Rosie.
The irridescent tones are due to how the feather structures reflect light, not due to pigment. Sometimes my ash reds(like Rosie) reflect a dark rose color. She is a lively color. And she has the beautiful violet and green iridescent feathers on her neck. Olive is pied so she doesnt show that. I've seen it on ferals but it's surprisingly vibrant up close.
True but without melanin in the plumage the shine is almost totally muted. Olive has just a little bluish sheen in direct sun.The irridescent tones are due to how the feather structures reflect light, not due to pigment. Sometimes my ash reds(like Rosie) reflect a dark rose color.
