They look like they are meant to be together! It's great to see her wing doesn't appear to be as bad as first thought. Has she tried flying at all?

Yes. She flew from the cage down to the floor pretty wellbut she can't fly up more than 18 inches.

That's a good sign. Best not let her over do it. It is fantastic the she is already improving!

It was the ascending flight that took longer for Doba to regain. Very slowly over weeks, she was able to get higher and higher.

I made sure she had 'stepping stones' to get where she needed in small hops

Does anybody else get sunflower hearts for the pigeons? Mine go crazy for them!

They are in the seed mix my budgies and finches get but the finches don't eat much of them. I give Olive a scoop every now and then. She picks them out then the finches get the rest. So there's no waste!

Then with olive, she can't or won't eat the popcorn or maple peas in her mix even though its supposed to be for small beaked breeds. So I sifted those out. But now with Rosie she eats those seeds no problem so everything will go to use with somebody.

Doba was in large dog crate outdoors while recovering from her injury. Once she accidentally got out and flew 50feet or so at a height of less than 2 feet off the ground. She is not a tame bird and impossible to catch as she can run faster than me! So my brother and I tried to herd her in the direction of the loft, thinking I'd open the door in hopes she'd go in. To get ther we passed her cage which was elevated about 30 inches off the ground. To my surprise, she attempted to re-enter her cage through the open door and missed, falling short by only a few inches. So I positioned one of those hard rubber step stools in front of it so she could take it in 2 stages. She grasped the idea at once and was back inside right away. I think she understood she was not quite ready to go back to the rough and tumble of the loft. It was however only a few weeks later that she decided she was ready and that was our goal.

I do! Had to cut back on them though as I have some chubby birds. I use them as treats or in breeders mix now.

The photos came out bad but they're sharing some safflower seeds together on the front porch (just before i run the vacuum cleaner.)

Dug this up this AM for Kiki i dont remember who told me to use a barrel of gorilla glue to fix my tree but yall jus donno how crazy i am i been thru some things

She has a bed now. Though its the hand me down. Olive got the brand new one.
