Pigeon Talk

I got mine from alibaba. The Chinese ebay. It cost me £25 for 100
Could you supply us with a link to the bands you discovered.
I am more than interested.

Where do you get your custom ones? They are all so expensive.
I am not one to ask.
I live in Canada and bought the ones I have through the U.S. They were expensive when I ordered them. When they finally arrived with the duty and the exchange the price was almost double what I anticipated.

One was driven back from 58 miles away by a good Samaritan and his family.
I am up to at least 11 out of 13 new recruits.

The advantage of having your name
and phone number on your pigeon's band.

Any that do not arrive tomorrow I doubt I will ever see again.
Oh wow.. Im glad they found it and its back home now! 11 out of 13 isnt too bad. I hope the other 3 show up tho.:fl

Wow! Thanks soo much! so none of them have come off or anything? The clip on ones I have come off and break alot.
These are clip on ones and I haven't lost any.
Just a quick point about them. If you order any they cost next to nothing. The main cost is the postage. If I remember it was about a fiver for the rings and twenty quid for postage. Postage is expensive but rings are cheap so it kind of evens itself out.

The same supplier sells the metal and plastic ones. Just navigate their site.

I never ordered from this supplier, because I did not need 50, or 100 in any given year. I ordered smaller quantities from a re seller in California. They were identical ones to these. but only had YEAR and SERIAL NUMBER. The above seller states on site that information can be printed to your needs.
Copy and paste from site.

I used clip on bands for gender ID, Blue, and Pink. They never fell off my pigeons. If yours do fall off, you can place a miniature drop of super glue into joint. If needed to remove, just clip off with nail clipper. Permanent band and clip on were each on their own leg. (for peeps new to pigeons reading this and not understanding pigeon legs)

because things are never easy..

Last night I got a call from a concerned neighbor of the house where the aviary is at that all of my birds were screeching and thrashing in the enclosure. So at midnight, in the rain, I rushed over. There was a large rat inside which bolted down a burrow when it saw me, and birds going every which way. It had dug a burrow in under the wire even though its buried a full foot down. We never have had rats before but new neighbors across the road who just toss open sacs of garbage out in the alley have clearly brought them in.

The fertile pigeon egg was cracked in the chaos though she remained brooding it. She must have been dusturbed by other birds fumbling into her nest and stepped on it in the dark trying to defend it. Rowan was also standing in the nest when normally he roosted on the edge.

It was not safe to leave the birds out. A rat can easily kill a parakeet or maul a pigeon. I caught up all 18 present birds and took them home.

I took both eggs and she continued to sit at the house. But this morning its very apparent the fertile one was not salvageable and the second egg is not fertile. So the clutch is a loss.

But all of the birds are okay. They had a nice week outside at least.

Thankfully none were eaten.

And they'll probably lay more eggs. But ill have to decide if I want to let them hatch any while they're indoors.

Olive has been very affectionate sitting on my shoulder and seems like she missed me this past week.

Rowan has no manners and promotly knocked over a lamp coming out today.

But I love him anyway.
