Hello all!
Sorry for the troubles all around
@backyard pigeons did your birds return?
Thoughts from anyone, I’ve been building a gate/trap to allow my pigeons out into my duck pen, which is net covered. Semi-secure, since they could find openings where the netting overlaps, but it is zip-tied every couple of feet. I think they would still stay close at this point, even if they got thru.
My question is.... I need to add some landing spots but don’t want to cause hazards for hitting my head on, or anything to weigh down the netting, or anything above the ducks pools, water, feed, etc. The duck pen is like 50’ long by 20’ wide. One long beam runs lengthwise, the netting is secured to a fence on one long side, and to my chicken coops on the other long side. There aren’t really any solid “walls” to mount anything. I could hang some pieces of wood from the center long beam using chains, but they would swing slightly. I could maybe build something with more solid landings, but chains would sure be easier for me. Would they land on something that swings a bit?
The pigeon cage is to my immediate right from where the first pic is taken. (The t-bars and chicken wire is no longer there, it was initially my walkway)
The snow pic makes the netting more visible.
