Maybe. They're just perfectly white and pretty, so I keep them in a bag in a drawer. Thinking maybe one day I'll think of something to do with them.

Ive got feathers, hatched and blown out egg shells all saved for project pieces. I found 5 frames on CL 3 are 31" square, one is 2'x1' and last is 18" square. Cant wait to get started!

So cute! I had a pair of nest mates just like those. I reluctantly put them on CL and I miss them still, especially the dark one that looked just like mom. They did go to a good home at least.

Those two are still quiet buddy-buddy with one another even after growing up. Hopefully they don't pair up but I guess if they do I can always have them sit on some fake eggs. I don't want to split up the dynamic duo!

Is it normal for your birds to sleep in the aviary? Last night was their first night out but by dark they'd all gone inside to sleep but when I went out to check tonight I found them all roosting outside.

Mine all go inside at night. There is no roof over my aviary.

I ended up placing them all on a perch inside the loft lol
I don't really care where they sleep but I don't want them to get in the habit of sleeping outside and exposed when it starts to get cold and windy.

BP,,,,,, just wondering how your rollers are doing health-wise???
Was at the Feed store, and picked up a bag of this that can be placed on floors. A lime based disinfectant, that may be something like you need for your loft ground floor.

Says it does not contain CAUSTIC ADDITIVES
50Lbs of this only cost less than $3.. This is a product for horse stalls, but am sure it can do some good in my chicken coop floor. I will apply it thin layer, and sweep around. Then I will cover it with hay. I might use pine shavings, since I have those also.

I just got a brain-storm
Can you get your hands on some tempered glass storm window panes.
Install them vertically into the flight path on top of your aviary. Wash glass SUPER CRYSTAL CLEAN/CLEAR, and watch hawks crash into invisible barrier.
Reason I say tempered glass, is because it is strong, and will withstand an impact from a hawk.
I don't think you would be breaking any laws with such setup.

I have some clear corrugated plastic roofing above the aviary already, but I think the layer of wire underneath threw the smarter/older hawk off and prevented it from crashing full speed like the young bird. It would be funny to watch them smack the glass though

Here's their slightly older brother, who had an identical sibling who unfortunately never returned from their maiden flight. This was the one that came back all oily a month or two ago.

And finally, mom and dad. He is looking incredibly scruffy at the moment but as you can see in my avatar he does clean up nice.

hey caveman. they are doing okay. haven't lost anymore, but the recovery seems to be very slow. one of my white homers got it, and my port pair has "it"... I have all-in-one in the mail, it was recommended by pyxis. it was hard to get, because everywhere was out of stock. including foys. I finally found some, 200 grams for $50.... idk if that's a good deal ot not, but I had no choice. I will get some lime... do I just spread it on the ground, and it kills whatever it is? do I need to water it to soak it in the ground? thanks for the help.
