Hey guys
My pigeon have a 11 days old baby and last night I went to check on them around 9pm and I found a soft shell egg in the cage
They were making a new nest beside the baby already before then
What do you think cause it?
Is that she lay before the time the egg is due or what ?
I’m confuse because non of my birds ever did that

They need calcium. Your are having problems with eggs breaking under birds to, right?

get some oyster shell, or even chicken egg shells crushed and put in the food or another dish. I hope this helps!

This is the first time and they are getting the crushed egg shell

Old Strain Lover. The color of the skin, it's hard to say. It looks "normal" . It's the color of the bottom of any pigeons feet.

as long as it's not a bluish purple, it doesn't sound too bad

So, I think Pidgey is a girl. Her coloring is getting darker as she gets older and she's looking more like her mom.

They haven't had another clutch of eggs yet, but I'm hopeful they'll do at least one more for me before the summer is over.

Meanwhile, I still haven't built the aviary onto the loft because there's been talk of moving the loft. It still hasn't happened and there still aren't really plans for moving it, so I think I'm just going to build the aviary and then if we need to move it, the aviary will just have to move too. It's not like it's going to be horribly heavy or anything.

I want another pair, but I wouldn't turn down a mate for Pidgey either, haha.
