Don't just keep taking, eggs. Replace the ones you remove with fake plastic ones. If you just keep removing them, pigeons will keep laying more. Pigeons are not like chickens. It takes a lot out of a pigeon to produce an egg.
I am not sure you are aware of this, so I am posting this for others to read, and learn from also.

A custom mix a local mill does. The workers have homers and recommended it to me when I was picking up my other feed from them. I’m not sure of the ingredients, but I wanna say it’s 14%

Is would recommend giving the parents some chicken layer pellets starting about 3 days before they hatch. 25% of their feed being the pellets would be good. this has helped me raise babies so much. If dont think you a would lose them agian.

Help me to envision pigeons. Want rollers, probably flying oriental rollers. How many to start? Guessing I need to raise babies and then start flying what is born here? Does a breeding loft need to have a human door to close behind you to keep birds from getting away when you feed them, or can you put breeders in something more like a kit box? Have many questions, hopefully someone who flies rollers is on here. Thanks.

I recommend no less then three pairs to start if you won't be bringing in new pairs. Otherwise you will be inbreeding before long.

Yes, raise babies then fly them. If you lose one of your breeders, you lose a pair. You can breed your birds in kit style lofts no problem, but your would enjoy a walk in one, I think. They function a lot better. Yes, they will try to fly out if they are very excited. but, if your an squeeze in you won't have any escape.

Look around for Young birds now, there should be a lot with the breeding season wrapping up. Then, start pairing them up as soon as the days are getting longer. They will have grown up enough by then to breed, so that would work great. If it were me, I would look to get about 10 young birds, and then by mid March start breeding them. For ten young birds, $100-150 is a fair price in my area for food rollers, if they are 30+ ft rollers. If possible, ask to see them fly, so you know what you are getting. some fanciers charge a dollar for every foot roller (estimated, if course) so a 30 ft roller would be $30. These birds are more expensive usually, but you know the bird and what it does.
