Pigeon Talk

I think when they get hungry,,, they know where dinner is served :old :idunno
In the meantime,, they are enjoying the new territory. They are not homers looking for their previous home.
All pigeons can be loft flown. The danger to your pigeons now,,, would be flying raptors.
Let’s hope.
They are just hanging out of the rooftops at the moment. I’m watching from nearby, and my chickens quickly alert when danger is near, so I could run out into the yard in a heartbeat. I wish they would come off the peak, but I’m hoping for the best.
My husband did say he thought 9 were out, but we think the 9th made its way back inside.

They will return to the loft when they get hungry or towards evening. Your frills are not the strongest fliers, so yes, be watchful of hawks until they are safely back in the loft. Something that makes a loud noise is helpful; a radio. Hawks are leery of anything new that could be dangerous to them, but it will not deter them for long

Glad you got them all back!! One of my prisoner birds escaped the other day and I was dreading seeing him take off for his previous home, but he ended up just grabbing a twig and bringing it to the nest bowl, I got lucky.

I’m hoping to breed this blue bar to one of my white hens but I think the blue is a hen as well, time shall tell

If the blue is a cock bird you will see "him" courting the females by bowing and dragging his tail as he follows cooing the whole time. In nest building, it is the male that searches for nesting material to bring back to the nest site. The female waits at the site and arranges the male's offering to her satisfaction.
