Pigeon Talk

So my family went to this Stone Mountain thing near Atlanta, Georgia.
There were all these colorful pigeons at the top! Apparently the flock started with one lost homer and more started arriving.
Anyway, we talked to this guy who used to have pigeons that lived nearby started feeding them so the babies would grow fast enough to avoid predators. They will just follow him around.
He climbs that hill to feed them a lot, so he’s in good shape, and the pigeons are too!
Now there are around 40.
They came in so many amazing colors. I liked the Russet one. (The red bar) I got a great picture of him (I like to think it is male) in flight.
It’s funny I spent so much time talking to the guy and looking at pigeons I barely looked at the view (but don’t worry, I still did.) (thumbnails, so click for quality)

That’s so neat! Do you think they would’ve formed a population there if that guy hadn’t been feeding them?

No. It’s definitely interesting. It’s just this huge mountainous boulder (but with some trees and plants) and at the top there is this big building for the gondola where the pigeons roost and nest.

Thanks for sharing the mountaintop pigeons. We have the odd pair here and there nesting on seaside cliffs but nothing like that.

First new baby of the year:

Baby! My Arabian Trumpeter pair Biffy and Blondie have an egg! They paired up super fast. Love at first sight.
Anyway, I drew an Arabian Trumpeter.
Though I was too lazy to write out “Trumpeter”

Nice!!!

Do you have any videos of them making noise? Are there any other unique features of that breed other than voice? YouTube is pretty sparse lol
They have black eyes and come in unique colors that no other breed has: yellow atlas and red atlas. (Yellow heads and blue bar bodies and red heads with blue bar bodies.)
My yellow atlas are yellow all over though so I think they might be ash red based.
