i started keeping 3 racing pigeons this is my first time i let them out they fly around but wont go in the coop what do i do

Well, I usually catch them at night and put them in the coop. They usually figure out where to go in a few tries.

Also, it might be a smart idea to let them out a bit hungry. They are more likely to look for the coop (where the food is suppoused to be). I also whistle every time I give my pigeons food (and only then) so after a couple of weeks, when I started whistling they started coming in to eat.

Feed them only what they'll eat in half hour tops or ration to no more than fourth cup er bird a day, and as get ready to feed make a certain sound only feeding in cage. Only feed when done flying for day at first, or cut rations in half feeding each when call in. Adjust as needed and for what feeding.

Get them used to hearing feed shaken in a canister. Then take away their feed for 24 hours and fly them hungry for a few days. Then shake your feed canister inside the loft.

One set back to this is they get used to his whistle and if he needs to have someone else tend his birds they may not have br0nc0 control. Pigeons are sometimes funny that way. That is why I use the canister.

Agree with all above advise.

Let them out when its near to their feed time... make sure you train them to a call or signal when you go to feed them. Never let them out after they have eaten and are full.. otherwise they will just like to laze about outside.

I whistle to mine.., but really if they just see the blue feeders coming out they rush back into the coop.

A good tip is once they get used to eating peanuts they love them.. like candy. If you have a tin to rattle and they know that means peanuts are coming that will get them back in the coop in seconds!!!!
