Pigeons & Chickens?

Quick question. I'm just starting out with raising chickens and I'm almost done with my coop. Couple months down the road or at least when my chickens get to the proper size id like to have a pair of some homing pigeons. Can the pigeons and Chickens co-exist in the same coop? It's quite sizey and I plan on making some high nests/perches and things that the chickens couldn't reach and the pigeons could. Just asking now while I'm still in the building stages so I know how to go about it.

They can, but it is better to have separate housing. Coop divided so there is outdoor access from different spots. Pigeons to fly out, and chickens to be contained in run. When you have young squabs in in the coop, if they fall out of nest, the chickens will most likely ______ him. I kept chickens and pigeons together in same loft over winter. Had a separation between the two halves. I was able to keep banties and adult pigeons together at times.
There are those with opinions that the 2 should not be combined for Bird health reasons. I did not experience any health issues between the two species being housed together, separated with a screen.

Sounds difficult for how its setup already and I surely want squabs so maybe I'll think of something. Make a small loft for 2 pairs. Id love to catch some feral pigeons and have them mate but the only place I've need those are the Walmart parking lot.

Feral pigeons make fine pets. Most likely the original ones will split on you when freed, buy the offspring hatched and raised in your loft will stay with your loft.

Quick question; Can the pigeons and Chickens co-exist in the same coop?

Quick answer; Under the same roof "Yes" in the same room "NO"

This topic has been covered several times already.

You can not keep chickens and breed pigeons in the same coop. The chickens will injure / kill the young pigeons.

You can keep adult non breeding pigeons with chickens, but still there may be problems with chickens attacking the pigeons, and the pigeons need different feed / care to the chickens.

Better to house your pigeons and chickens in their own coops. If you don't have the space for that you need to decided which species to keep.
