Pinch me I'm dreaming. **finished structure post 39**

I do this constantly, in addition to "Oh, look at that flat, green, open land!"

Friday, 8 am. "hello is this Mr.G....?"
"yes it is"
"This is Jen, I was calling to see if you were going to come today to pour the piers?"
"uh,well, didn't it rain there yesterday?"
"No, and the rain from the day before was dried up by yesterday"
"Oh, well, we got rain up here, I thought it would have rained down there."
"Well, we didn't get any"
"Gosh, I already told all the men we wouldn't be working today, its too late now".

Do you think this guy really knows how to use that phone?

Well, they poured the concrete today, great thing, but left me a little confused. The piers are probably 3 feet square below ground level, the width of the bucket on the back hoe. then they come up into a 6 inch tall box about 12x12 or 16x16 with the screws set into it for the uprights. Some places, where the ground was lower, the piers will be a good 8 or more inches out of the ground. Sounds like a headache building around these things, Plus, there's one right in the middle of the sliding door opening? That won't leave me much choice but to do some fill work. What would you guys or gals use to fill the floor of a barn with? Keep in mind I don't "think" there will be a bottom rail, it should be open to the outside between the uprights if I understand right, so the fill would have to grade out to the outside pens. Whatchyallthink?

So here are some pics of the piers.

The framing is almost complete. They would have gotten more done, my neighbor says, but they had to break for rain several times. Now if the weather will hold out, they should get a lot of the roof and siding done tomorrow.
