Me too. I see all of these old barns and hen houses setting doing nothing in our area, and I think, "if only!" My mom would see a pretty barn and say "wish we had that barn" and dad would say, "no, you wish you had that barn and they had a better one!!" I think that too.

I guess I should post up some pictures of what my guys and gals are in now and you would know they deserve it!. Everything is kinda all over the place , with cages and runs around the edge of the yard. I just hope I can manage to have a run without (too much) mud and put welcome mats by the door so they can wipe their feet when they come in to lay.

The concrete guy called today and he is supposed to come Friday or Monday, weather permiting, to pour the piers. Hooray!!

Pole barns are cheaper. I thought about getting a pole barn about 10 ft high then start boarding up the sides but leave 2 foot open with hardware wire . I think a pole barn about 30ft by 40 ft when work for me .

Don't you love having a site where everyone is happy for you and knows what it means to build a coop?
I'm so happy for you.... and maybe a little jealous!

I priced pole barns, and finished on site, read to cut the ribbon, there wasn't that much difference in cost If we had the time to do it ourselves, it would be different, believe me.
