Moving right along, here it is at 11:00 this am on my way to work. Both sides covered, louvers in place and framed out.

By the time I got home at 6:30, the insulated roof was on and the frames for the sliding door were hung.

Well, there won't be any more updates until the first of next week, I'm going to a wedding in Ohio, and I guess it will be done when I get back.

That is awesome.....concrete floor? How are you setting up the different areas inside?

The floorwill be dirt with possibly a construction sand top layer, not sure, I need suggestions. One side will have banty pens with brooder areas above them, the other side will be large fowl pens that are are tall pens. Both of these will have connected runs on the outside. Show pens, brooders, broody pens etc, will be in the middle. This is also open to suggestion.

Will there be a wall around the bottom of it?

I haven't quite gotten the bottom part completely planned out yet. What I thought was some kind of drop wall with pop doors for each pen so that I could close down the inside pen in bad weather, or if I wanted to confine a group for some reason. It will be open most of the time. The entire pasture will be surrounded by High tensile electric fence, and the barn/pens will also have an electric border fence.

Is there going to be windows??

Windows are a possibility in the drop down part. I think there will be enough lighting from the open sides, and flourescent shop lights in the middle. If I don't like it, I guess I can come back and add a few windows, but I don't think I will need them.

Now comes the hard part, figuring out how to get the pens built the way I want them with all that underground concrete and steel in the way! This should be fun. FIRST, however, the fill dirt I ordered back before they put the barn in will be delivered tomorrow, and we'll have to haul it in with (I HOPE) the tractor.
