Pine shavings?

Drainage is so important! Ditch around it, do something to direct water away from it. Gutters along the roof? Mine has gutters, and the ground slopes away from the coop. One corner gets damp, and we added rubber stall mats on top of the concrete floor, which also helped.

No built in run yet. They will be free ranging all day. The concrete pad is on the side of my house.

I would seal the edges then.
It is important that they have a chance to dig in order to properly dust bathe so I am glad they will be getting out.

I do recommend having a run in case predators find your flock. That way if they have to be confined for safety they can be.

So made this for the coop to go on top of. Will this work?

We just made this for the coop to sit on. Will this do?
Probably......but then you've got water underneath it, could get moldy.
You're going to lift the whole coop and put it on that platform?
