Yep! One of those big fly looking eye patches LOL. It almost looked like the eye screen that Nellas horse wears LOL. But I was very fashionable in it!

When I was done with my surgery that day, and had my eye patch on, my mom took me to lunch and it was hard to put fork in mouth,

then I came home and went horseback riding!

I have a gelding who was a beast for his last owner to deworm, but he's generally just fine for me.

How do you do it?

Patience.

I don't tie him, I just hold his lead rope, so if he feels like he has to put his head up or back up, he can. I don't want him to panic. I let him know that I am going to deworm him, I don't try to be sneaky about it. He's 16.3 hands so quite tall, and he generally wants to put his head up as high as he can get it a few times just to let me know that he can

but eventually with some sweet talking on my part and much grumbling on his part, we get it done. I just slide it in the corner of his mouth, shoot it onto the back of his tongue and then massage his throat so he swallows. The longer I've had him, the easier it gets - he knows I'm not in a rush so he doesn't get nervous.

Hey, you can't just sit here and sip coffee, you have to share some sort of awful eye trauma or summer scheduling snafu.

Oh wait, summer is like a week long where you live, isn't it?

Did you decide on the castle?

No, it looked cool but so does Orlando. I've never been to a theme park aof any kind so we are thinking we can include a couple days at Disney, visit the space center and toss a wedding in there somewhere.

Summer has not started to heat up for us yet...but...it will in just a week or so!

This past month I have been packing so we can move to Alabama for a job transfer. Packing has been the least of the work, sold the house (still waiting to see if they can get the necessary comparables), that is torture!
Getting the horses ready for a trip to KY to stay at friends until we can find a house to buy. They had to be trimmed, brushed (they still are shedding), shots, coggings, brand inspection....I think they are ready, lets hope, they are being picked up tonight.
Making arrangements for two dogs to stay at my DD's in KY, the other tree are coming with us to the hotel....that is going to be interesting!

Re homing all the chickens...done!

Lets see....way more stuff to do, the movers are suppose to be here on the 10th, and we are suppose to close on the 10th....I hope that goes smoothly and actually happens as DH has to be at his new position on the 15th...I really do not fancy staying without him up here.

Then my Aunt called from Cheyenne, she wants us to swing by and pick up a cedar chest that was my GGgrandmas....ok, only a few 100 miles out of the way! I think it will fit in my explorer with 3 dogs and a cat

All this while it is 40F here and we are going into the humid inferno in the south, then I get to look for a house! That will hopefully be the FUN part!

But then I will have to move everything out of storage and unpack

My kids flew out yesterday for their dad's. The middle one (my drama-queen) is moving to her dad's but the other two will be back in August in time for school to start.

So today is day one of Tom and I getting to be a couple (as opposed to keepers of a rowdy herd) and we have our whole big house all to ourselves.

Last night we enjoyed a nice glass of Chocolate wine in the hot tub in the tower. this morning, we got up a little early and had went back to the tower for a peaceful soak to start our day.

Ahhhh, this is the life!

Come visit, you'll never want to leave. I get up every day and thank my lucky stars that I was born in the most beautiful place on earth.
