Pinning up free rangeing chickens.

This year I bought chickens and am wanting to take them as a project at the county fair this year. Part of judging is to bring my two chickens and have them in a small cage for the week. The week of the fair is the last week of July so it gets pretty hot. I am wondering if going from free-ranging to cage for a week will harm my chickens? Does anyone have any experience with this?

Create or buy a couple of 'Show Cages" and start putting your birds in them for several hours each day. They should be acclimated to the cages prior to the show to decrease their stress levels.
