OK. The farm had already picked out the chick they wanted to give me so I didn't get to choose a EE, but I'm happy with my new girl!
I think she's a Brahma mix. She's 12 weeks old and very scared. She's in quarantine right now.
Aww, she looks so sweet! She does look like a Brahma mix to me, too! She reminds me of one of my Easter-eggers with her coloration, so maybe she's part EE? Either way, she is just so pretty!
Hey, all, it's been a while. Today the babies are 5 months old. I actually ended up taking their pictures on Friday because I've been super busy getting things around for, well, I'll post about that later. For now, here are the babies' 5 month pictures!
And finally, the reason I've been super busy getting things around, there are some new additions to the family! Yesterday, my pair of Call Ducks came home! Their color is Butterscotch and they are pretty young. I don't have an exact age, but I'm thinking 4-5 months.
The drake's name is Malcolm. He's a pretty cool guy. His quack makes me giggle!
The young lady, Trudi. She's always tweeting at Malcolm to wait up or share what he's eating, or this or that. She's got a set of lungs on her, too!
They are pretty shy, so I'm working on taming them down with lots of treats. They are very sweet together, though. Whenever they get separated, they quack and quack until they reunite. They're always waddling across their pen side-by-side or in single file. Now if only they'd figure out the steps next to their pool so they can swim.
They are, aren't they? I am quite fond of small things (bantam chickens and their little eggs, cute little knick-knacks, etc.), so Calls were the natural choice for me when I decided to get ducks.
Speaking of the two of them, here is a video of them yesterday when I was bribing them for their love with scratch grains.

(Sorry for the wind sounds. But there's some cute quaking in there! Malcolm makes the 'quack' sound and Trudi makes the 'tweet-tweet' sound.)
Well, it's that time of the month again! The babies are 6 months old today! Well, not a whole lot is happening here. I've recently been quite sick (thank you, kindergarten--my niece brings everything home ), but not too sick to get out and see my girls, of course! Anyway, on to the girls!
It's been quite cold here and the babies experienced their first snow a few days ago. It didn't even slow them down! Here we go!
Elda--Always miss bright eyes!
Kit-kit the talker. She's talking more and more lately it seems!
Georgie, who squatted for the first time over the last week!!
Louise, my shiny little dear. She has become more friendly recently.
Miss Mabel the boss of the babies. She definitely keeps the others in line!
And the older two, Poppy (who absolutely refused to pose--she's the only one of the babies that is totally objecting to the cold) :
And finally Violet, whose expression pretty much sums up my feelings on the weather.
