A real quick peek in to post that I did my photo shoot as mentioned! Just because, here are all three known Judy booty babies Unfortunately the cockerel has developed a disqualification for breeding (he's got a sprig on his comb ), but he's still such a handsome dude to me, and the older pullet is beyond stunning for her age

I'm running way behind for coop closing, so I've got to get going out there, but the rest of the pictures are linked above!

The Judy booties are great! I'm bummed about Spriggy, that's really too bad. That pullet is gorgeous though!

She is, I'm super excited about her My only real critique for her right now is those wings, but she's young enough they might correct as she finishes growing and replacing juvenile feathers

Picture of the day 66! I found this weird little turkey wandering around my chicken pens today...

For runner up, a close up of Juniper's eye color. She has such pretty eyes She looks so shocked because she was in the nest and the camera flash was a bit alarming

...But it also lit up the nest and revealed to her a nice feather someone else left behind that she decided, mid photo shoot, needed to be adjusted

Adorbs as always! I have a bit of a confession to make...this time I didn't lose the thread.

A couple of chaotic days ago I stopped reacting to the posts, amd reading so thoroughly, so when things had cooled down a but here, I wasn't sure if I should start reacting out of the blue again. Sooo, I've been silently observing

And here's the picture of the day number 67! A rather disgruntled Winter staying under cover on this rainy morning we're having. He's extra grumpy right now because he's molting, hence his lack of roostery tail feathers at the moment

And a runner up of several of the flock also sticking to the cover in the rain. Surprisingly (or perhaps maybe not so surprising), a sizable amount of the flock was out pecking around despite the weather, so that means I'll go out there later and find a whole bunch of soggy chickens

This morning, after opening coops and getting everyone fed, I sat down at my computer to check my email and saw that I had missed a couple from my school about a 'New Student Prevention Program'. It seems to me like that name was not well thought out... But anyway it's their mandatory safety and alcohol abuse education course that all new students have to do. I remember doing that type of course at the start of my first degree and it was pretty straightforward and didn't take too long, maybe 30 minutes or so, so I thought I'd just start it up and get it done real quick as it's due by the middle of September.

Three HOURS later, I'm not even half way through the thing yet, and it's full of frustratingly ridiculous questions that I can't even answer like 'how many of the students on your campus do you think consume alcohol?' Like... What? I haven't even been around any other students yet, how would I even guess at that?? So since I have plenty of time to slog through it still, I've had enough of that for one day. I guess there's a reason they called it 'new student prevention', because you have to get through all that junk as a new student or you're cut off until you do.


...Anyway. Back to the chickens!

Our picture of the day number 68. Rangi does not have the fluffiest booty normally, but when she puffs out to preen, she can get a decent amount of roundness going

Excuse me, my eyes are up here.

Runner up is a blurry picture of Peanut Butter peeking through one of the baby feed stations at me innocently over the pellets she'd been noshing away at mere moments before.
