I hope it counts I put 7 Mille Fleur under my Black Japanes Bantam. Eggs were purchased through mypetchicken and I am so excited. I can't wait.

Eggs & hen are at my dads (he is skipping around the yard) Said my hen won't want to come home she likes his house so much)). She is happily clucking away over her seven eggs. Who is doing the count down? Add it to the Title line.

Got my Ideal order today and called my dad and asked what the hold up was I had my hatched chicks. He just laughed.

My dad hopes nobody is around when he is talking away to Twilight in his workshop he said they may think he has flipped.

I candled today and can clearly see a heartbeat in two of the lighter eggs.

OMG I almost feel like a momma again.

I can see how fun this is really going to be. Has anyone else candled yet?

I couldn't wait and OMG OMG OMG that was the coolest thing ever!!! EVER!

Out of the seven in there I saw veins and heart beats out of six. Questionable on number seven. I suspect it is a dud.

I'm a little late...set mine today under my broody Silkie. I posted this on another thread, but I'll post here too

because I'm excited enough for 2 hatch threads...LOL.



I just put 6 eggs under my very first broody Silkie.

I'm so excited I can't stand it.

I guess they'll be due around the 31st or 1st... I grabbed the eggs out of the egg carton that were laid today and yesterday...so they'll be different mixes. I used Buff Orp, Easter Egger, Leghorn and Silkie eggs. The possible Baby Daddies are a Rhode Island Red, a Sizzle and a Silkie....

I sure hope everything goes well, I've never hatched eggs before, and Sammie is very young. The good thing is, it's so hot here that the eggs could incubate themselves...even if she gets up, they won't cool down...LOL.

I'm determined to wait until at least day 7 to candle!
I heard it stresses the embryos out, but it's SOOO hard to wait. My first hatch I was candling them every few days, but some people on the forum told me not to.
My eggs are brown anyway and I know from my first hatch that I couldn't see much of anything till day 7 anyway.

Trying to be patient.... definitely not my strong point!!!

I've got the hovabator 1588 with a turner. yeah. I am havign a heck of a time not candling. This is my first time and it is just SO AMAZING.

How do you stop?

I don't think I could have stopped my first time!
This time around I am *a little* more relaxed...but not much!

I am sure after we get a few hatches under our belts we'll be old hats at this and we won't feel the need to stand by the incubator 24-7 for 21 days and watch! Lol
