It WAS internally pipped and died. I did not make the hole in the membrane. I guess for some reason it wasn’t strong enough to externally pip. I’m not going to open the egg anymore. I just wanted to give it a chance in case it was resting and needed some air, but I’m too late. I assumed since it looked like an internal pip this morning that I would come home to progress, I don’t think it would have gone any differently had I not been at workkinda bummed, but all around it was a good experience and I have a much better idea of what good eggs and bad eggs look like. Kinda wishing I hadn’t promised the babies to a friend since there are only 2 now, but it will be ok. Maybe we’ll hatch more with the next broody.View attachment 1819198
justSo sry about the others.I am glad that you got 2 healthy webbies tho! I just candled all of my ducks eggs and pulled one that was obviously bad. So now she is down to 7. We are about a week away so we'll see how it goes.
