What day would you candle to look for first signs of development?

@Miss Lydia would geese go after prairie dogs?

It really sounds like a great argument for getting a goose! Perhaps I'll ask on my state thread, someone has got to have both geese and prairie dogs!

eleven young indian runners have now joined our flock, in the brooder/incubator at least. couple of cute blondes, a spotted one, couple of pitch black ones. three more are in the process of coming to the party, with 5 not sure if they will make an entrance. I hope they decide to come on out and enjoy the sunshine! I cant get pics to post from here, will do it later on tonite

Still no ducklings!!! :barnie

One egg has a hole in it big enough that I can see the duckling inside and when I talked it wiggled and rolled. I decided it was best to quickly set the broody back down at that point and didn’t get a good look at the rest.

I was really hoping I'd wake up to more pips and a zip. I have not candled again and feel like I probably shouldn't even be picking up mama to peek underneath at this point! I hope when I get home from work I see SOMETHING. I will actually be worried if there are not more external pips at that point, but I guess it's still early and no one is overdue yet!

We have one baby! The egg near it’s head is half zipped. Mama was quite upset so I couldn’t get a look at the other eggs. Looking at the photos now I see my Ameraucana somehow snuck an egg in the nest today too :th
