I claimed a 10 x 10 area as an addition to my previous 15 x 20 garden plot.

I have aleady out planted both areas. What is a Garden Girl to do ? ? ? ?

I have little 3 inch tall corn plants up. I have red leaf and simpson lettuce growing about 5 inches tall. I have some spinach up with about 6 leaves each. Of course there is carrots and beets. PEAS - LOVE GARDEN FRESH PEAS !

I just gave away some collards and I wish my brocolli would get some heads to go with those leaves.

Just put some beans and cucumbers seeds in the ground last weekend and they are up already.

Let's not forget the strawberries and chinese cabbage and tomatoes and peppers.

This weekend - I planted additional squash, lettuce, and corn.

I think DH is going to need to get the rototiller out again.

YOU GO GIRL!!!!!! I wish I had more room to garden, even though I do flowers mostly. Between gardening and chicken tending I don't have time for a social life. Oh well, they're my priorities. I wonder which one will kill me first? HAHAHAHAHA!

does having veggies and herbs started in the house count?

i was hoping out outside temps would be better by now. but the night time temps have been sooo cold lately that i won't chance starting some of my colder weather stuff out there under hoop houses yet.

Congrats on your garden. Sounds like you are off to a good start this year. I am glad the night temps are finally staying up now.
I get to start all over again with my garden. I have spent the whole last week moving to a larger property where I can have my chickens legal and a much bigger yard/acreage (yeah!!). I am dead tired of moving and unpacking lol. I am gonna have to rent a tiller so I can get my veggies in the ground before it is too late. I have tons of potted tomatoes and peppers. I am sooo tired just thinking about all the stuff I have to do now grrr..

Here are a few pics from my garden yesterday.

I also have planted Canteloupe, yellow and zucchini squash, 3 types of bell peppers, corn, beans, onions, carrots, broccoli, peas.

I'm really enjoying the harvest right now.

Well we live in the northwest, and have yet to experience snow. Infact, we just went through record warms for January and February. . So. . . I planted a LOT of fruit trees, nut trees, grapevines, raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, and then began on our actual "garden" - It's over an acre big, so we have so far: Onions, broccoli, turnips, chives, mustard, carrots, cauliflower, chard, kale, potatoes, lettuce, peas, and a couple other things I can't think of right now.

In the end we will have practically EVERYTHING. . . Except citrus.

We have SO many seeds still waiting to be planted, and still another acre or so waiting to be tilled up. Plus, with all the extra wheat and huge variety of corn to plant waaay later on in the year. . . . I have a lot to do!

WOW Mahonri,

My garden won't look like that for at least another 45 days.

Thinking back 45 days for when I planted would of put us in some low 30's at night.

Have you really had that nice of weather for that long or are you showing pictures of last years Spring Garden?

We have several things started outside right now, plus the inside and coldframe starts. I've seen our swiss chard, bok choy and fennel pop up. Plus we have snow peas and shelling peas up to at least 3" tall. My radishes are probably 1 week away from being picked.

I'm already plotting and planning where all my tomatoes and peppers are going to go to get the most sun when it finally warms up.

Still am undecided about rotating the corn somewhere this year, and what to do with the squash and watermelon. And we NEED lots of water melon here for sure.
